The slave cylinder should just be sat on top of the metal bracket. Once the two bolts holding the cylinder to the bracket are removed it would only be rust holding it on.

Have you given it a tap?

The lower nut on the pushrod has to be removed. The pushrod comes out with the cylinder and is held in the cylinder by a circlip which you will struggle to either remove or replace with the cylinder in position.

When I recently replaced mine, I undid the bellhouse nuts that hold the slave cyl bracket as well as the bottom clevis pin that joins the cyl rod to the clutch leaver. I then pulled out the bracket, then undid the bolts/nuts holding the cyl in place. Easier to then replace the cyl with the braket out (for me anyway).

The picture looks like a master cylinder in the turret the pedal attaches to
If this is the case undo the six bolts on the pedal side of firewall into turret (captive welded nuts on turret side) disconnect pipes and remove whole turret assembly with pedal through fire wall on engine side
Replace and recharge new master on your bench and reinstall whole assembly

I think you are right. And yes, that is the easy way.

    Clutch cylinder removal

Thanks all, after a traffic jam trip down to the island, got back to the car and thanks to all the advice was able to remove the clutch cylinder.

Our model appears to have only one clutch cylinder, which was confusing me, as the Haynes manual seemed to suggest there should be 2.

Anyway now on to replace seals and refit.

    Thanks for the assistance.

I would think there would have to be a Master Cylinder as well as a Slave cylinder , one won't work with out the other to disengage the clutch.
