Did the first 80's have the grommets ? I remember a presentation at Cooma 2008 from a gentleman who came out from LR to solve problems with the vehicles on the Snowy. He mentioned if reversed into a bank of mud/snow this could enter the bellhousing and the reverse scroll oil seal on the crank delivered the snow/mud into the engine.
I'm sure he mentioned that feedback was to install the grommets.

Just on Craddocks - I have always ordered must stuff from there (95% at least). Before Covid, the person I dealt with there was Vicki. Her service was impeccable, truly customer focused and always received correspondence from her with my orders, and promptly delivered! She has been off work and not there to manage my orders and my last order experience (recently) through them was pretty shocking! It took days and back and forth just to confirm my order, then I paid for my order, only to receive a seperate GST bill, paid that, then received a bill for extra TNT freight costs (exhaust system), that was $120 extra! So really they have dropped the ball without Vicki there

Still, they seem to be the most competitive pricewise...

    a, I need a sarcasm font.

b, the resolution for the issue was the change in the seal design and wading plugs
