We fitted tow balls to the front of every small tractor as well.

The ol' baked bean tin and hose clamps never fails.

Collected an early Series II today so now she knows why I was working on the trailer......

Has been standing in the open since 1997.
Holden motor in a professionally modified chassis which is galvanised.
A few extra holes and odd bolts where it's been modified in the past, yet to investigate all the 'junk' inside but I do need to resolve the smell of stale petrol.
Originally would have been fitted with a 2 litre motor but unfortunately that's long gone.

Undecided at the moment whether to keep it or not, SWMBO thinks I've got too many already.

Too good to part out so I'll get it running and make a decision from there.

    Hey Colin,

This does look like quite an interesting vehicle. I hope you do get the time to do more with it. Thanks for the posts.

    Cheers,

    John

    John,

SWMBO thinks 7 Land Rovers is about 6 too many so I'll probably have to move it on.

This is the second '58 Series II SWB I've owned, the first did have the original 2 litre motor with it but needed a lot of work. This one is like my Series I, lots of period modifications which make it unique/unusual.

Yes, the suite of intriguing modifications do make this a rather interesting vehicle. Let's hope that, if you do move it on, it goes to a worthy home.

P.S. Consider painting all your Land Rovers with zebra stripes and parking them close together. It will then become difficult for anybody to count them.

I read on another forum years ago some rules to confuse SWMBO when keeping multiple vehicles. Here are a few that I remember :-

Don't give them names, she'll notice when a new name is mentioned.
Regularly move them around so that she doesn't notice when a new one arrives.
Sell one at some point then whenever she mentions the number of vehicles you have, refer back to the one that you sold some time ago.

Also, make sure someone knows that if anything happens to you they must not let her sell them for what you told her you paid for them !

Well the pressure is on to get rid of the Series II.
I purchased it because of the galvanised chassis but have to admit I'm not a fan of Holden conversions.

One of my boys has put it on Facebook Markets (I'm not a Facebook user). I'd forgotten how much fun it is dealing with potential purchasers......

Just trying to recoup my losses. SWMBO isn't happy so It has to go.....

Better get working on the others and get them roadworthy, also have a lot of spare parts to thin out. Problem is as soon as you sell on a spare part you need that very part and have to pay double what you got for the one you just sold !
