    Thanks for the comments.
Door dampener tubes are welded to bulkhead not bolted.
    Alternator conversion.
    Will look for electrical numbers.

“64” seems to be recurring theme in these numbers? Any relationship to the “64” in your user tag? You and your Landy might have been born in the same year!

I don't think steering boxes had numbers.

I would think it to be a 1965 with the high number 252 gearbox with the 'F' suffix engine, however either could have been changed at any time.

I would think the regulator has been replaced at some stage , & think John is correct I can't remember seeing a date on any of the steering boxes of LR I have had.

'If it's an H in front, that is for August which ties in perfectly with everything else. My working hypothesis would be that you have a kit which was pulled together in August 1964 and regulator may have been changed for another one on arrival, or a rather delayed shipping in October using up a few earlier bits from the parts bin. Assuming there was a factory shut down over the summer, that may explain the slightly random dates on an assembly made just after the re-start'

August (H) 64........on the steering box.

By this time there was substantial Australian content, and you will find there are quite a few bits that tended to be Australian sourced. As far as I know, engines, gearboxes axles, instuments and steering gear and probably bulkheads, windscreen frames and tubs were always imported, but a lot of the rest was eventually made locally, with electrics early, as Lucas was supplying bits to other manufacturers. And because of this, some parts changed a lot later than the home market, or never changed.
