Well a bit of an update on this series IIa, it has both a single wiper motor and adjustable drivers seat, going on this it can't be a 64 model, so must be at least 67 on.
So how can I find out what year model it is??
Got it about a week ago, minimal rust, it goes but needs a new clutch slave cylinder and tyres, will be used mostly around the farm as a wood/hay carter while I slowly replace a few things and get it in good running order.
Had a bit of snow

Adjustable drivers seat could have been added.
When did two wipers become compulsory ?
Chassis number narrows it down. Clifton Scientific Text Services, the Netherlands
Does it still have a registration plate, if so can you check via the local authorities ??

Hello from Brisbane.
From 1967 on it likely should have dual cable driven wipers, toggle light, wiper and panel light switches on the dash, three solid spoke steering wheel and the unique to Australia grille. Plus probably a few other things that I’ve forgotten.
I suspect it isn’t.
Cheers,
Neil

It did have a rover six in it, now has a Holden motor with no modified crossmember, the six was released in the IIa from 67/68, also it is stated that the single wiper motor was introduced in 1967, it has a key start ignition, also introduced in 67.
From ECD;
Other changes in the Land Rover Series IIA came as Land-Rover started putting better equipment in the vehicles. One addition was a starter that was activated by the ignition key. The seats also changed from a basic grey to a pleated black that could slide back and forth on adjustable tracks. In 1967, Land-Rover got rid of the individual windscreen wiper motors in favor of a single motor system that operated both wiper blades simultaneously.

I dug a little deeper.

It is a pretty hopeless approach to try and date a Series 2a by the fittings that can be transferred from one vehicle to another, or that may have been differently fitted by different manufacturing plants. The only foolproof way is the chassis number stamped on the chassis. However, there are some 'limiter' - and the introduction of the six should confirm that this one is 1967+.
