My First Restoration - 1964 2A
G'day,
Thanks for this forum, from the outset, I'm a real amateur with mechanics, I've mostly dabbled with motorbikes, but looking forward to learning as I go with this Series 2 project. I'll be asking lots of 'dumb' questions - so go easy.
The car is temporarily in this garage (behind it) while I'm building another garage just for the Landy and maybe the next Landy after it!

Managed to strip it back largely trouble free (a few broken bolts here and there).

Engine is out and just started the cleaning process.

Once I've got the engine sorted, I'll pull out the gearbox and strip that down. Then it's chassis, brakes, clutch, wheels etc.
Feel free to offer advice and gentle critique and I'm keen to learn as I'm bumbling my way through and I have massive gaps in my knowledge about cars.
So far, the engine looks pretty good (it was running - though no clutch or brakes). I've noticed a build up of junk in the cooling system as well as lot of carbon build up - but it's 57 years old. Just starting on removing the valves though the collets are recalcitrant to say the least. BTW, are vent lever controls available for the early series 2A (mine are mangled)?
Cheers
Darren

Have a look here and you will probably source some vent knobs.
