    My First Restoration - 1964 2A

G'day this is my 1964 2A. It runs but has no clutch or brakes.

I have no experience in restorations though I have dabbled in motorcycles. I'm hoping to learn as I bumble my way thorough - go easy on my dumb questions.

Stripped of the panels apart from the firewall.

Engine out and beginning to clean it up.

BTW, does anyone know if vent lever controllers are available for the 2A - I realise panels in good condition are hard to come by so I'll turn my hand to panel beating as I don't want to leave it patina?

    Cheers

    Welcome!
Looks like a good base to start from, can you take photo of the rear crossmember when you get a chance?
You will be able to find the vent levers 2nd hand easy enough, someone on here will probably have some just ask around!
    Cheers Jim

    Thanks for the welcome, Jim.

The rear crossmember is a farm job (car has never been registered - govt dept. to 2 x farm owners), I've got a proper replacement crossmember I can weld on when I get to doing the chassis. My plan is engine, gearbox, wheels, chassis, brakes and clutch before re-assembly. Thanks for the heads up - if anyone wants to sell the vent levers pm me.

Regarding being a good base, apart from the non-standard rear crossmember, there is no real rust to the chassis, with just the floor and footwells to be replaced.
