    Headlight fitment

    G’day all.

I hope everyone got some downtime over the break. I fitted a headlight last night and it seems to not be straight. I assume it’s supposed to be straight but not matter what I try it seems to want be canted off about 30 degrees off level.
The white line in the first pic is aligned with the ‘horns’ on the lense, the second is level. Any one have any ideas ?

Actually the pics are around the wrong way. But you get the idea.

I had the same problem a while back but they were cheap headlights from Ebay. The glass wasn't positioned correctly when bonded into the reflector.

    Ended up throwing them away.

As yours are Lucas I wouldn't expect the same problem (unless they have been 'reconditioned').

    G'day Kim,

Your alignment problem is due to the original 700 bulb headlight on the 1960 Series having metal alignment hoops and the seal beam type having glass alignment lugs. These alignment hoops/lugs are in a different position on the different style headlights.
Easy fix is rotate the metal ring attached to the vehicle and refasten so the sealed beam headlight is aligned correctly.

G’day gents. Thanks for taking time to reply. The fitted light is Lucas. So it may be that I’ve inadvertently stuffed something up. I’ll keep looking at the setup and hopefully something will fall into place.

G’day . No that’s on the bottom. But I can see how it looks that way.

    G'day Kim,
    Sorry for any confusion!.
I looked up my parts manual and the part that needs to be rotated is call " RIM complete" part number 274379. ( Not the Rim Chrome.)
Good you have sorted it out.

    Chris
