The apron panel is not there at all. The winch is mounted to a pretty heavy plate. (Unless of course the apron is a heavy plate. To be honest I don't think I've ever seen one!)

The winch is not actually connected. (Not sure why) The drive shaft was removed. Though I Believe I have it all in the box of "Spares" Dad gave me.
Wipers are individual motors directly driving the arms. (No Idea where they came from.)

 I got a bit of the history from dad the other day. Apparently it was the Chief Engineers vehicle from Pioneer Sugar Mill in Brandon, QLD. The Mill had several of them and an inhouse mechanic. So I'd say they would have done "whatever" to keep them going in the day. Actually the well used Workshop Manual I have is stamped "Pioneer Mill".
