Series 2a demisters

My apologies John. . It appears I do have a P# & I noticed on the Pass. vent in my image there was something that needed further investigation, et Voila,

"The Rover Co Ltd I.m.I 346246"

No idea what the I.M.I is for, maybe place of Manufacture, but provided they haven't replaced the # after all these years you now have something positive. There could even be a cross reference. Good luck.

Btw. The Name "Rimmers UK" may have been my supplier. Just a guess though, but worth a try.

Up to suffix 'C', the part number is 338669, for a somewhat different looking demister.

Would there be any reason to choose 346246 over 338669 or vice versa for my wide light 1971 late 2a ?

Yours is post suffix 'C', so the later one 346246 is the one made for it, and, I suspect, probably has better airflow. But either would fit.
