Hi
I am in the process of restoring a 109 1966 landy that I bought off market place , however a previous owner had refurbished the chassis to fit some other than a land rover e motor (each to their own) but has put disc brakes on the rear and left drums on the front .
To convert the landy to discs all round is not something that I can do at the moment but I am finding it virtually impossible to find backing plates to return it to drum brakes
Any advice please

I wonder if the original front axle with discs was taken for use in another vehicle at some stage?
When I'm able I'll have a look, it's possible I have a set which could be tidied up for use. I'm relatively close, I'm in Burnie.
If I don't have anything (or forget to look...), there's a bloke named Jesse who advertises Series parts on Gumtree sometimes. He is a bit of a drive from Westbury as he's located in the Copping area down south, but he's been good to deal with.
Cheers,
Martin

Thanks for that
I sent Jesse a message a couple of days ago and just waiting for him to get back from wherever he has holidayed to.
I believe that this vehicle was going to be discs all round but the one of the previous owners didn't get round to it so I'm trying to make a goer of what I have
Still smilin
Are the rear brakes from a Perentie the same? I suspect they are.
Perhaps a set of rear brakes may be available from someone who has done a rear disc brake conversion. I wonder if KLR Automotive would have some in their scrap metal bin. It might be worth asking.
I know they have brand new genuine backing plates - I saw them just after they'd been photographed for their website.
AEU2496 and AEU2497. I just had a look on LRDirect's website and genuine back plates are A$1300 each! Hell's bells, Batman!

I'm beginning to wonder if the R in KLR stands for Ron...

I do use them a fair bit and I do go there often - my wife sends me off to get rid of me.
