Stromberg-Zenith are mentioned in the manuals as being the type fitted to some V8s.
They as you probably know are a horizontal draught type. The one I have looks just like the vertical draught Zenith but has Stromberg written on it. I will take some details tonight when I get home and post them.
As JD said, the Stromberg you have is probably off a Holden. The S2/2A's were fitted with either a Solex or Zenith down draught carby.
A photo would probably lead to rapid enlightenment!

This is going to be a long-term restoration because I lack in critical elements like time and money :-) but I try to get a little something done as often as possible.
I have 2 series 2 land rovers. one is a series 2 the other is a 2a.
Ralph is the series 2 who has a 2L engine and I believe it to have all matching numbers, but I can find the numbers at the moment. But because it is on the farm and many miles from here I will post them when I get them.
Noddy is the series 2a bitsa, he has a holden 179 conversion, new axels and rear diff, and soooo many leafs on the front springs it wont climb hills due to bounce even with 16psi in the tyres. At the moment I am replacing the gearbox and when it is up and running again, I will hopefully kit it out as my camping vehicle.
