2A 88" Truck Cab

Moved the 2A into the shed today.:)

It was a bit of a shuffle because the shed is new and the approaches haven't been finished yet and a bit too steep for a non going vehicle!

I towed it into the middle bay with the Rangie and then shuffled it across into the 3rd bay. I used a couple of wheel dollys I picked up at autobarn this morning and a trolley jack. The wheel dollys are worth their weight in gold. They made it an easy one person job.

It went so well I then repeated the process and got my series 1 into the shed as well. :D

Have't been able to work out the whole photo thingy yet:(. I was trying to get the photos to come up in the message body .... anyway, you get the idea , except the 5th photo is meant to be second in the line!

I reckon swb truck cabs are just drop dead cute!! Will build mine one day. Good luck with finding a good roof. There are plenty about but usually they are more bent than the one you have.
Your little truck also has the wide sills fitted. I always thought[ probably wrong] they only came out on '58-'61 year models, indicative of a proper S11 model and not a 11a. Could have been fitted at a latter date but.

Nice truck and hope you have a lot of fun with it.

Nice shed Muzz!

When you paste the photo addresses into your message, you can insert them into the text by placing the cursor at the end of a photo's address and hitting enter. This breaks the address block up and you can then type a message near the photo; just make sure you leave a space after the address. You can also drag the photo address to where you want it in the text, which is useful if the photo is out of order,

The parts book just lists them as wide and narrow, with no dates or serial numbers. I had a look round for pictures, and, for example, find that the publicity picture of 38 body styles from 1965 showed all wide sills. I was also able to find a 1969 photo of two new Landrovers (with headlights in the guards) with wide sills. Worth noting that the 1965 lwb I have has the wide sills. So I doubt that they are indicative of the year - possibly changed at different times for different body styles.

OR maybe just what happened to be in stock at the assembly plant on the day, which fitted the body style in progress.

Well I have managed to find some more info in relation to this vehicle. :D
The vehicle was sold by Arthur Garthon in Sydney on the 11th July 1963. The person who bought it must have been very impressed because he returned a month later and purchased another 88" T/cab on the 12th August 1963!

So I am guessing that it is a 1963 model!

Aside from that it looks like a fine little project.

Given that Toyota is supposed to be sooooo good. Where are all the Land Cruisers from this era that are being restored???? Not many one thinks.
