Have another look. To me they look rolled and welded, whereas the true "bathtubs" are pressed. They might be home made copies to the same effect.

They are originals.
I have seen a few on civi Landrovers.
Mick, did any ADF IIa's have the Landrover splits on them??
I did say "similar", not "the same as" ;)
Army 2a's did not have split rims.
G'day All, Those tail light protectors were available in the early 60's, a mate has a set on a 109 that he has, I don't know who made them but they are rolled and welded 1/8" x 2" flat bar, with 2 tabs on the inside to bolt them thru where 2 rivets hold the corner gal capping, and like Phoenix said "similar not the same as anyway cheers Dennis:angel:
ps this useless bit of trivia bought to you by a bored old B:(, these items came about after the S2 C/R came on the scene, fitted with 'Tail Light protectors' as we know them, but they were not available to the gen/public, so some enterprising person set up making their own design, and good to see that some are still in existence today,,.:wasntme:

G'day All, 1.6mm plate is all you need to repair that section of chassis, 6mm is way too thick, cheers Dennis:angel:
My 1975 Series 3 SWB Ute, has the rear tail light protectors on it. I think I'm the third owner, and it looks like it's factory original .. As it was never an Army Landy.. (I think from memory, it was originally owned by a council or something.. It's been a while, as I've had her for around 17-18 years now) She's the original Yellow with white roof colour scheme.
Sorry for the off topic post..
