Ordered the new OEM drive flanges, Felts etc, Dinty is sending the BSF bolts (thx mate) for Ralph. Now to find a few hours to put Ralph right.
The son lost a rear tyre on his Jackaroo Saturday night on the way home from work, completely destroyed the tyre, separated the tread and steel belt and snapped a wheel stud off, ripped off the mud flap and bent up the brackets holding the side of the bumper bar to the rear side panel and left tyre marks all up the rear passenger door. They have a combo disc drum on the rear, the drum has the handbrake shoes in it which has to be removed to punch the old stud out. Luckily a mate who has a mechanics shop in the same complex here at work, had 2 studs on his bench for this style,he only bought a week ago but never used.
Guess who has to fix this.. Think it is time to teach him to do it himself.
    Cheers Ian

I managed some time to take Ralph to the Ho Hars on Saturday. Harry was kind enough to
allow me to use the hoist so I could get rid of the AVM free wheeling hubs and refit new drive
flanges. We found the internal hub nut on the drivers side loose as the locking tabs on both
sides were only bent over the outer hub nuts. fitted up the new drive flanges, re fitted the
front drive shaft after replacing the yoke boot, adjusted up the snail cams on the front brakes
and all is good. Now all I have to do is take a leaf out of Incisor and AJF's books make a start
on rebuilding the 2.25ltr petrol motor I picked up a few months ago. The molasses idea to clean
the block sounds good and I also have a large plastic tub of good quality tools from my late
father in law I found in his garage quietly rusting away, I can use some on. The Wife and Daughter
took off for a 5 week holiday in England and Europe today, so I may just find the time to have
a go at it all. (amongst all the "little" jobs left for me by SWMBO )
    Cheers Ian

Well we did a 190 mile run weekend before last and Ralph ran like a freight train. I had the navi in the car with me as he looked so dejected when I went to leave for the overnighter. He had a blast and so did I, We found some great state forest tracks thru Northern NSW, and hopefully I can get back out there soon to explore a bit more.

We camped at Bonalbo for the night and had dinner at the Bowling club. I always thought that Mebbin and Possum crk rd was state forest, but as it's national park now, we couldn't camp with Bundy in the car.
