Id just replace the whole pump.
I did mine recently, cheap and easy.![]()
I have noticed coolant coming from behind the pump pulley when radiator pressure starts to build from engine warm up.
I assume could be the seal?, if so is it feasible to simply replace this or should I be going down the road of a replacement pump?
Only thing gone wrong with the old girl for years, but its probably due to start now!
Thanks llandro

I agree , replace the pump complete , I got mine from AUTO BARN.
Thanks blokes.
I see I can get one for around $75.00
Saves a lot of messing around, fits, works and will probably see the old girl out.

Yea, I had enormous problems with the water system on my III. Replaced just about everything. And yes, replaced the water pump, much easier and had no problems since. Having said that, you can't buy water pumps for SIII anymore (or I couldn't anyway.) You have to take it off, send it off and they recondition it. From memory it cost about $250.00.
No they're definitely available for the 4cyl, Gary at CLR has them for $75-ish.
6 I dunno.
I replaced the waterpump on my 2.6L a couple of years ago. They still had reconditioned ones available then from 4 Wheel Drives in Vic.
Since they require the old one in exchange, they should still be able to help.
Not as bad a job as I expected since the fan came off OK. The teddy bear's arsehole above the pump is a pain but otherwise not a lot of swearing :-)
