Well I wouldn’t know much about the disc brakes, not sure if they need them. I know on my stage one 3.5v8 that’s mildly worked with porting of heads & manifold, mild cam and now with Pace makerPH7600 extractors (they will fit with one very little modification) as well as an overdrive is just too dangerous to drive fast!!!! I think it’s the age old tale of it’s hard to be good at everything; good road holding means poor off road. Mine’s ok on the road in a straight line and high way driving so I haven’t found the need for better brakes yet, the car just can’t handle well enough, it’s the roll over that will kill you! When driving through town I treat it like a truck. To speed up the long gear changes I cut 6’’ off the gear stick, but make sure your arms long enough first!! The best mod I did was fit a winch, this is the most useful tool on any 4x4 I reckon! I would love to shorten the rear of the chassis to the rear spring mounts, this would make a huge off road difference, as it always scrubs out!! I can’t bring myself to chop my LR because it’s in too good a condition, will be doing it to the next one. You have made an excellent choice, your stage one should keep you busy for years!!Here’s a few photo’s of mine.Yes, it used to be a yellow wagon, don't tell anyone!

hey guys sorry internets been down for awhile.

yeah iv decided to can power steering for now as i freed up the relay box on mine and WOW what a difference.

yeah i cant seem to find a reasonably priced way of fitting diskbrakes other than modifying a rrc axle to fit leafs and thats to much work.

iv taken most of the front end of and about to start rebuilding all the steering components.

wheres best to get a rebuild kit for the relay box and steering box?

iv actually been suprised there is almost no rust in the chassis, there is one spot in one out rigger thats the size of a $2 coin

any idea what the easiest way for getting the spring and bushes back into the relay box is?

Not sure if they make rebuild kits for them

If you like you can borrow my manual for the stage 1 sup it does show pulling apart the steering relay.

I also have here a complete steering colum and steering box but no relay
