You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.
Mine has (or had, haven't tried it yet) a problem at about 60km's an hour and 110km's an hour where a vibration would start when the engine was pulling even on a straight when you were just maintaining 110km/h. The mirrors would shake and you could feel the vibration through the seat.
So far I have:
New Rims
New Radial tubeless tyres
New Rear propshaft (yes, brand new)
New Rear diff rebuild
New Wheel bearings all round
New Parabolic springs
New engine mounts
New Transfer case mounts
Gearbox rebuild
Transfer case rebuild
Handbrake assembly
I have also checked body clearance from the driveline, all without curing the problem.
My engine crankshaft centre was inline with the PTO hole in the front of the chassis, with many people commenting it was too low for a Holden 6 conversion and that the engine is not as deep as the original Landy 6.
I have put in a rebuilt 186 this past weekend and have put in engine mount brackets from another old Landy S3 with a holden 6 in it which sat almost two inches higher. I'll be driving 20km's to work tomorrow morning so I'll see if it has cured the problem then. So far the new engine has done 18km's all around town taking it easy to run it in.
