fuel pick up problem 2.25 diesel

I believe I have finally tracked my air leak problem to the tank, when I get down to 3/4 full I suck air into the system. Is there anything I can do to repair the original?

If you have the original pickup - which is removable, then it is very easy to repair - or resleeve. I had to extend mine when I fitted long range tanks - just silver soldered a copper extension on - then wired some gauze back on the tip.

Are you sure your guage reads correctly? Do you have a long range tank with a standard pickup? It may be that when your tank gets down that low, the extra suction required causes air to leak in elsewhere.

The pickup tube is held in with two screws. Remove the tube and inspect it.

    Aaron.
