Na i use original defender door rubber They are the right shape & you dont need to join them anywhere..
They have the rubber on the outside & a U shap bit on the back the pushes onto the pinch weld as such..
I ran out & took some pics with me fone of the green one fitted with fender rubbers..They just push on after you make the cut for the windscreen & there quiet hard to pull back off so i'm guessing the steal in it which is like ribs running the whole length of them , Must have teeth that grab the metal door rubber bit you push it onto..

This is a corner they are moulded so go right round the whole door from bottom right round to the other bottom..
