    I agree with Ben.

    Problems only arise when used inappropriately, such as on cooling systems, or carburettors; or when far too much is used on the joint and the excess can squeeze into the lubricating system for example.

    It is also important that household silicon sealants - the type that smell of vinegar - are not suitable for automotive use due to their corrosive action on aluminium and incompatibility with sensors,

    I have used Loctite 515 before, and it leaked.
    I have used 3BOND 1104 on my motorbikes in the past, and it has worked well, thinking it might also work nicely on the Rover. What other variants of 3Bond has everyone used on their cars?
