These are the heater hoses on mine -

That might help a little more as you can actually see where they are connected.

    G'Day Tim,

I need one of the little 90 degree hoses that you can see in this image on the extreme right. Do you know if they are readily available? I tried using a piece of straight heater hose but the bend causes it to pinch off.
    Regards

Take your straight piece of hose, place a piece of dowel inside it then wrap some fencing wire around the outside of the hose with the coils touching each other. Remove the dowel, when you now bend your hose it will be difficult for it to deform and result in a pinched hose. Worth a try if you cant get a preformed hose.

Trying to provide some warmth for The Navigator, who feels the cold much more than I. Have solved the tap problem. This little hose is the only remaining thing standing between The Navigator and warm tootsies. Will earn many brownie points if I can get it working.

The pre-formed 90 degree hoses are readily available from Repco, Autobarn etc. They typically come as a short piece of hose with a couple of bends and twists in them - you basically cut out the section with the angle that you need.

Yep, that's what I ended up doing. Managed to find one that provided both the little short right angle bit and the remainder fitted nicely between the heater box and the outlet at back of the block.

    Hello from Sweden
Is it common to series, lacks heater in australia? Thought they were standard in all vehicles
I am working on completing the renovation of my series 3 now in winter it is not uncommon to have tempraturer between -15 to -25 degrees so I have an electric heater mounted to the car to start in the morning, and I bought a small electric heat fan (costs about 20 euros) that runs on 12 volts to increase the heat in the car while driving such an approach would be a simpler and more functional as you only need to plug it into your 12v when it's chilly, I can see if I can arrange a picture if someone wishes

All the series 3s got a heater AFAIK but they dont work very well on early series the heater was an option so not many have them. For those of us with an ex military landrover they dont have a cig lighter socket to plug into unless we fit one. We dont have your temps here so its not so much a problem but -20 in a canvas top car

The reason why many Series heaters don't work well is that the foam rubber seal around the heater core inside the box falls apart and allows cold air to bypass the heater core. Sometimes you can check by trying to move the core by pushing and pulling the outlet pipe. If it moves at all the foam is gone.

Not hard to get it apart and replace the foam rubber seal.
