The door hinge mounted jobs are the way to go. I have them on my series 3 and they give good rear vision on the left side as well as the right.
You just need a few bucks in your pocket when you go to get them. :(
Cheers, Mick :)

Mrs hh:angel:
I'm looking at getting some of the door mounted ones too, Paddocks in the UK has the SIII to defender mirror conversion kit (http://www.paddockspares.com/90-110-...it-for-s3.html) for £30ish, but I'm waiting for them to get back to me about shipping cost to Sydney.
We used to use some that were from a truck suppliers. They were about 6 x 4, and had a base plate that was shaped like a keyhole The lower section of the key shape was bolted to the guard and the round end had raised bumps that fitted into dimples in the matching plate that fitted over it that was part of the arm and bolted through the plate and guard with a spring underneath. This allowed the arm to push in if hit or off road. didn't look the greatest but had good vision and survived the urban jungle.
Just got a rough delivery quote from paddock spares of 48 pounds to Sydney.
There are some new ones on ebay for $120 per pair, so not much difference in price if you ship them out from the uk.
