    Meet Oakley, Caspers S3

    Hi All,

Here are some photo's (I apologise for the quality, my phone just hates taking photo's...because it's a phone) of my latest addition to the fleet, Oakley.

Named Oakley as it was the surname of the bloke who gave it to me.

As you can see, there is plenty to do as it came with all the extras, rust, dirt grease and grime, flat tyres, empty dog food bags and even a dead rat.

I have it back at my mates place at the moment to make room for it at home where the big tear down will begin to find out what I really have.

All I know so far as it's Series 3 and it's diesel and it's yellow so if anyone can fill me in on anything else that would be good, e.g. where to find serial numbers, build year etc.

    Here we go...

What are the plans with it? Just a small refurb and back on the road?

    Up the series!

I think it will end up being a full rebuild.

The electrical's are shot, rats have eaten a lot of the wires, there is rust everywhere so I think I will at least lift the body off and inspect first and work out what to do then.

Regardless, it's a good start as a parts car at a minimum as everything is there and if the bulk head is savable then I will probably put it back on the road as I know of another good S3 chassis sitting in a paddock.

    Cheers Casper.

I finally got Oakley home on Monday, photo's are to follow soonish.

I put the wheels off Casper on it and it looks great, seems the springs don't appear to have done much work in their lives.

I have not got very far as yet as we had to go to Shepparton Monday night until Thursday so I've just got sorted again and it's now raining so I won't be able to do much where Oakley is parked until it dry's out a bit.

Can't wait to get him cleaned out and the front clip off to see what I have.

    Cheers Casper
