    Rover 6cyl dizzy

    Hi all,

I'm building up a 6cyl 2.6 at the moment and have a couple of spare distributors. One is the later Bosch and the other is the earlier Lucas... Just wondering if there was much of a difference between the two and if anyone has any preference or suggestion as to which I should use? Any help would be great.

    Cheers

The ADF changed all the series111 to bosch, mine has a bosch dizzy and I think i would stick with it rahter then the lucas. Just remember when you order points and condenser that they are bosch not lucas the manual only lists the lucas numbers same part numbers as LC? torana

I believe I have some parts for the 6-cylinder Bosch dizzy...

    I have a handful of:
    points labeled HYL6871 (GB527)
    rotors labeled GB603
    Dizzy caps labeled 1 235 522 255

    All ex ADF

    dizzy over the distributors

I do have both as well and would like to hear from anyone with experience of both.

Years past, My then 2.6 flat tray, had the Lucas distributor, I used to carry a spare set of points, a condenser, coil, cap, leads and plugs.

All part of things, you should carry when going on a extended tour and the distributor never did stick me up unexpectedly.

    Hi Guys,

I have recently acquired a Series III ex army softop. It has the Bosch distributor which i would like to convert to a hall effect electronic ignition set.
Has anybody done this with the Bosch army unit and what other model car can i find this distributor in - this will make it easier to find a EI conversion kit.
Is running ok, so not an issue now, but ii know the difference this made to other points ignition cars i have had. The Accuspark unit for the Lucas distributor is only $48 from Rob Roy Classic Garage.
    Thoughts?

    Tim
