    Rollcage for my 88

    I was was looking into replacing the dodgy half rollcage in my 88 with a much better Full cage, but I've been told that Roll-cages are a No No in QLD since July 2013

    Does anybody here know the deal?

    Hmm....... So far I can only find design codes (LK8, LK9 and LK10) that don't cover external cages.

    did you just say that ROPS systems are a no no in qld???? how about all those mine spec cars that drive around......

    No more can be made road legal after 1st May 2013 so I was told.

    I've just found the new Qcop standards that have taken over,

    Well after alot of reading, I still can't find the design rules for Externalcages at all

    You could always just stick one on and IF you ever get pulled up on it just pull it off. There are plenty of people getting around with illegal lifts and or tyres on it.

    Well it seems that the mine ROPS are still legal. I found out that the only 4X4 shop I haven't been to here still sells mine kits and makes their own.

    I'm going to pay them a visit and find out the deal. Then I'll post up what i find out

    Ok I've found out what the deal is....

    You can not add roll cages to any 5star ancap safety rated vehicle.

    So....... 5star ancap....... Landrover!!......... Nope all good

    Wow these beurocratical dipsticks really are stupid aren't they...

    I'd love to see a 5 star rated Prius get cleaned up by a Defender, I know what I'd rather be in...

    Oh and you can't have ROPS in a 5 star vehicle? WTF it's only going to make it safer...
