    Lionel,

    Hello again from Brisbane.

I know the Yellow Devil colour you have mentioned in Mokes, but am not sure exactly what colour Highway yellow is referring to. However, one of my uncles had several Mokes on his farm back in the 1970s and one of them was a canary to custard yellow which I am assuming was a factory colour - they were all bought new and he wouldn't have bothered repainting any of them. A fellow student at uni back at the same time also had a Moke that was the same colour - hence the sense that they left the plant that way.

For what it's worth I once had a Moke in the pop-art lolly green colour that was splashed cross the BL range at one time - great motor but dubious colour. Another option for your creativity............

    Cheers,

    From the thick of it

    Hello All,

I have found out why I was practising avoidance. I recently finished holding down shift and the arrow key over the vast majority of my data analysis chapter and pasted into a new document which is marked "Foundation Analysis" This new document will be burnt onto a CD which will accompany the dissertation as an Appendix. I now have to convert the written data from 21 categories down to 8 and totally change the format of the data's presentation.

I am now using "prototypes" which are found within my "Asperger's Interaction Flowchart" It is a bit like taking the spine out of something and re-inserting a new configuration of a different type of spine back into the body; while doing this without the benefits of anaesthetic.

It is the only way that I can stay within the allotted page count and form a logical structure. This of course has knock-on effects of my needing to rewrite about three previously completed chapters.

It is the only way out of the rather deep hole that I had written myself into. No one else to blame but me .

Oh well back to the salt pits. Hi ho Hi ho....

    Kind Regards
    Lionel

    Hello All,

Damn, I was just about to write up one of the constructs that I had sworn I had written about in a different document much earlier on - as in years ago. So today I was going to cut and paste it into the new document. You know really easy stuff to do...

I did a "Search" and all I found were documents which said something like "Insert Sensory Processing here" I know what I am going to be doing for the next day or two .

At least all the prototypes for it are done and dusted and ready to drop into their appropriate places.

Now I have to go back a couple of chapters and introduce the concept so I can write in my data analysis chapter, "back in chapter 2, I introduced the concept described within the academic research literature as Sensory Processing Issues/Disorders. The next section of this chapter will now describe the participant's results in relation to their experiencing sensory processing issues ... blah blah blah."

I did have a win today. I have worked out a better way to present a construct by construct presentation of the Interaction Flowchart to ask as a guide for the reader. I had tried other methods and they were crap. I reckon I have it nailed now.

All the other boxes are grey with no other colour. The construct I am discussing has bold print for its label and also the colour border has been extended. I was going to segment the flowchart as a slowly progressive reveal of the whole flowchart however this meant all the traces of the actual interactions between each construct was lost. At least with the one colour and bold the specific construct is really obvious and the greyed area still shows a ghost of the remaining interactions.

I have been struggling with this concept of how to introduce each construct for a while so it is a big win for the day .

Oh well off I go to seek and dust off some old research documents and backtrack a couple of chapters and introduce the concept of Sensory Processing Issues. Damn I am sure I did the write up for this construct that before .... somewhere...

    Kind Regards
    Lionel

    A blessing in disguise

    Hello All,

Well in preparation to my write up of Sensory Processing I made a brief visit to my printed journal articles and I had a quick search online. There have been some new articles that have been published this year and best of all they have content which supports my theories! Plus it is always good to have the year 2013 cited in-text within a paragraph. .

I also found another new article (2013) which also supports the idea of excessive white matter development within the Autistic - Asperger's brain => Sensory Processing issues. Yes 2013

    Kind Regards
    Lionel

    hey Lionel,

Maybe i'm out of practise reading but where is the colour code in here haha. Good to hear your making some progress with your studies though! I remember the days of writing all the uni jargon stuff. Contemplated going back the other day, but don't know what I should study, I need a new profession and havn't figured out what to do yet. I had better hurry up cause in 2 months I'm unemployed.

    Hello Debruiser,

Is your looming state of unemployment through choice or part of cutbacks?

Were you a permanent or a contract teacher?

The colour code part is a brief reminder that there is a real world out there waiting for me after I submit the tome and can have my life back. It is also a very isolated pursuit.

I remember when I was a TAFE Trade Teacher in Brisbane and TAFE was going through one of its divesting of staff stages. A crew from a recruitment agency came and gave the staff a talk about how they specialised in career changes for teachers. I cannot remember the name of the company. However, they spoke about once you were their client you had to pay for a bank of psychological and other discipline types of tests. The idea was to identify what your skills, and talents are and these are outlined against career areas where your existing skills as a teacher would be a good match. The idea was for minimal retraining. Plus there are cheaper options such as working through the career advice book which gets regular revisions "What color is your parachute". My apologies for the incorrect spelling of the word "colour" in the book title...

Oh and applying for jobs is a totally different genre of writing and it can really do your head in - well at least mine anyway!

    Kind Regards
    Lionel

    Lionel,

Na, it's actually none of the above! I am on a contract and they are replacing me with a permanent.... it's pretty crap but that's the way the cookie crumbles I guess.

I know how you feel with the assignments, they consume you. At least when i went to uni I didn't have a land rover out in the yard to distract me!

I hate writing job applications too, I never sell myself well enough, too modest I think. I might look into that teacher training thing.... worth a try I guess.

    Nick
