If you get a replacement second-hand chassis, the identity of your vehicle changes to the numbers on that chassis. In which case it is most important that you have the ADR Compliance plate for the replacement chassis.

I gather by your comment, you are happy to repair your current chassis so the issue of compliance plate is irrelevant.

Repairing the outrigger. Britpart make numerous chassis repair parts you can use, however looking at the firewall support outrigger, you may find that you can repair it by merely removing the rear element and welding back a replacement. You may even be able to make a tank support and outrigger repair in a single piece of folded steel.

Craig, where do you live? I am currently wrecking a rollover ex-Army SIII and we may be able to donor chassis parts off it.

Replacing chassis elements / outriggers
Just a little advice.

If you intend to remove elements from a chassis to replace damage or rust. It is a very good idea to weld on a temporary gig before you remove the damaged part. Remember the firewall will move as soon as you take out the bolt.

I am in the process of removing everything from the chassis and will rebuild/restore everything from the ground up.

It will be at least 4 weeks before all I am left with is a chassis to start fixing. What would you have available for me?

Great advice, I thought of that and will I make jigs, measure and triple check before I remove or replace anything on the chassis.

My real big problem is finding a lower dashboard tray that is not rusted away, mine is a disaster and will have to make one out of aluminium if cannot source one locally.
