You will have to resolve any seatbelt issues but other than that , should be fine

Rather than starting a new thread I found this which is close, but a bit old … what has been peoples experience with getting a S3 registered in QLD topless? Is it ok to take it on and off? I wouldn't be putting on canvas.
Do you need to put on one of those Exmoor "seat belt bars" to mount the sash inertia 3 point and if so, does it need to be engineered?
I'm looking at either a late IIA or III SWB and keen on the topless approach, first for the QLD weather and secondly there is zero clearance under my garage door with a roof on.

I've decided it's time to add a real Land Rover, I've had a Freelander 2 for the past 7 years and while its a great car, it doesn't have the character of my uncle's Series 3.
    Thanks

Has it been registered in QLD before and what seat belts are currently fitted ?

I just noticed this is your first post so welcome to the forum. We really like pics so post up a few (even of your Freo ) when you get a chance.

    Hi Paul
I'm looking for an existing QLD one but not wed to it (might be easier with rwc's and rego tho I assume).
The ones I've seen have either just got lap belts or the sash top is bolted onto the bulkhead behind the seats or onto the B pillar which makes it hard to take the roof off. Haven't seen any with a seat belt bar or roll bar.
At the moment just confirming it's possible to buy a series with a hard top and unbolt it without breaking too many laws

I'll dig up some pics of the FL2 … I think I've got some actions ones somewhere (or at least a bit dusty).

If it came with lap belts then it fine to register. If it has lap sash from the hardtop then you may need an engineering cert to change the mounts. Mine is canvas with lap belts and was registered fine 9 years ago. BTW I can take my canvas off whenever I like and it is still OK roadworthy wise.
