Congratulations on getting your SWB 109 registered
The steering wheel cover looks to be an excellent fit. Where did you get it from?
If you need to contact me please email homestarrunnerau@gmail.com - thanks - Gav.
Well I would like to start by giving a Huge Thanks, to all those who have helped me during this Restoration.
Certainly would not have achieved finishing Gilbert with out all members help.
Still a few little teething problems, but sorting them out.
As you may or may not know, Homestar and I had a little wager, who would finish first. Guess who won ????
But I feel I had an advantage, with all the help given, just to let ME win.
So I think it is only fair, I share my winnings with all those that have contributed, over the last 4 1/2 years, 16 Oct 2014, when Gilbert first arrived.
What I purpose is to Have Gav hold the Carton of Toohey Old, ( may not be the same one, he likes OLD) Until we ALL get chance to meet up, at a gathering down the Track, and share my winnings.
I am going to try and head South for a future event, so only seems fitting to celebrate together.
Being a Alcoholic,a tough decision but a
Vote........Y or N
Cheers.

Job well done Shane,

Great to see another Series Land Rover given some love and back on the road for another lifetime.
Hopefully you will get to drive it south for Cooma, Corowa, or similar event.

Thanks Mick.
Day of tinkering. Worked hard to get the BritPart carby going good but struggled.
Put the rebuilt Zenith on, and haven't looked back. Idles nice, runs smooth.
Little popping, backing off throttle, down hill. Keep slight throttle on, no popping.
Have looked for possible leak. Tightened up, all carby and manifold bolts. Fitted new gromit to brake booster.
Will try spraying WD40 tomorrow.
Running a little lean, have been told by older local Mechanic, to run 95 and see how it goes, before doing anything else.
95 runs cooler than 98 apparently. Found out after filling Gilbert with 98.
What are you guys running ????
Went for 100 klm run this arvo. Running nice and sweet.
Little hesitation if quick throttle from idle.
Done slowly, revs through nicely.
With 300 klms on the motor, should I change the Oil and Filter yet ????
Have another 5 lts of running in oil and a new filter ready.. When should I change to 20/50
Thanks for replies.

Hi Dave.
BP5ES
Doesn't 91 have ethanol in it ?
I had the 8.1 head shaved a little. not sure how much.
Plugs looked a little white, over the Burringbah Range but only on half throttle, during running in, but a better colour with the Zenith this afternoon.
Not a chocolate brown im use to. Maybe modern fuels dont give that colour any more.
thanks.

I think the chocolate brown was lead compounds!
