Bolt one end of a 3ft. long angle iron to the flange , let the other end rest on the ground, undo the nut. .W.

As described works well, but you can also do it with a rattle gun, you can put 2 of the bolts back in the flange and stick a large screwdriver to stop it rotating and go to town with the rattle gun.

Either a piece of angle iron or plate with a couple of holes drilled to put two of the bolts back into the flange. It only needs to be long enough to hit the chassis rather than the ground so it will work even if you have the vehicle jacked up high. It is worth having the angle iron/plate because you will need it when tightening the bolt as the bolt should be done up to a specific torque. The rattle gun is great to get it off but you can't get the right torque when doing it back up with one. The two bolts and a large screwdriver or breaker bar will also work if you have no other options but you can damage the bolts so use a couple of old ones.

    Cheers,
