I think the six cylinder chassis makes it easier if you are installing a 200tdi + LT77 gearbox, the 300tdi motor has the mounts set much further back than a 200tdi and I'm quite sure the injector pump will foul on the r/h chassis mount.
A defender 200tdi motor will not drop straight in either as the front timing casing will also clash with the r/h chassis mount.
The easiest option which I have found out the hard way

is to use a Discovery 200tdi motor and fit a defender 300 tdi manifold and turbo. This combination will sit directly onto the original chassis mounts and connect to the original gearbox.The turbo will not foul on the chassis and the manifold makes it easier to route the exhaust system. The series gearbox housing will need four holes drilling to mate up to the 200 tdi flywheel housing.
This is the combination I'm going to use in my Dormobile as I want to keep the chassis as original as possible.
