Thanks John - that looks quite a substantial lump similar to Lionel's. It looks substantially well fixed on to the frame. I could only open pic 2 & 3 but I could get an idea of it from the small pic 1 in the body of the thread.
cheers,

Dear all,
Dunsfold came back to me saying the infamous adu710100 would fit - it wont without modification - but they don't mention this. I sent them a reply accordingly.
Rovers North don't ship direct to Australia - you have to nominate a shipping agent ............... Zzzzzzz............... plus they didn't answer any of the questions I put to them.
Craddocks who say they respond within 24 hours took over a week to reply and then only because I chased them and then didn't answer all of the questions I put to them.
British 4x4 UK haven't responded at all!
I'm still amazed there is not a one piece bracket currently available .
So I'm going to make them up myself probably not one piece but it should do the job. Thanks for all the ideas.
cheers,
D
G'day Dark61,
Have you thought of going down the second-hand road? The Ho Hars have a selection of Series vehicles. It may be worth sending a message to them? http://www.aulro.com/afvb/wrecking-n...ml#post2365846
The big killer will be freight for both the roof to tub main brackets, plus the 2 right angle brackets you are looking at approximately 4 kgs.
Kind Regards
Lionel
I hadn't thought of that Lionel thanks for the heads up. Agreed re freight.
I'm going to have a stab at making them first - I reckon I've sorted out a design. I'll make them up , fit them and then a pull a couple of emergency stops and see what happens!
I'll let you know what happens.
Thanks again.
cheers,
D
I've got a pair of galvanised seat belt brackets from a truck cab if you get desperate, they look like a genuine part and the same as what JDNSW has shown.
thanks jerryd - if I'm not happy with what I come up with I'll give you a shout.
All - British 4x4 finally came back to me with a quote of GBP200.00 for a modified bracket. There was no s on the end - so I guess that's for 1 - around GBP600.00 all up delivered for the 2? , which is a joke. I'd rather spend that kind of money on a brand new heater for Chumley!
As usual thanks for all the help.
cheers,
D
I have been searching for a pair of these for three years, they seem to be rarer than holy grails. I have been sending this picture to anyone who may have a truck cab, either here or in the UK, to no avail.

I have been surprised that no one else seemed to be looking for them, and this thread follows the same path of the conversations and emails I had in my search. My aim is to get hold of one, or a pair, and get some fabricated exactly the same. They are fairly thick steel from memory ( I did have a pair in a LWB I sold years ago) and would need to be welded properly (certified?) as they are seat belt mounts. I now need two pairs as I am putting a second truck cab SWB together, so I am keen to buy some, or borrow them as samples and return them after I get more fabricated.
Hello All,
I received a message back from a UK supplier, John Carddock, and the reply was "these parts are no longer made".
Kind Regards
Lionel
i have been following this thread for a while and think that you would be good to do the fitting like post 41 which refers to the uk forum how to, and I also like the setup in post 50 which gets the reel down away from your head.
the post in 57 showing the factory bracket appears to be only for a non retractable inertia reel type belt, as the reel is usually mounted below somewhere and the belt pulls upwards from it.
I have taken some photos of my '71 s2a shorty station wagon with the same belt bracket as the pommy thread mentioned in post 41.
this is a genuine setup and would have been original equipment as Diana has said the car was delivered new to the nsw police.
although it is not a ute cab, you can compare these pics to the uk thread.
there is another bracket not shown that attaches the reel to the wall which is spot welded on .
I can take more pics if you wish.
