Thread: Code for Series 3 Gearbox LT76?

Hello Series 3 Owners,

Is the code for a Series 3 gearbox for the 2.25 litre petrol or diesel and the 2.6 litre six cylinder motor the LT76 or the LT95?

I am aware that there are different suffix boxes just not sure what the box itself is known as.

Hope this helps.

Two types of Gearbox were used in Series III models. The original LT76 (LT for Leyland transmissions and 76 due to the 76mm between mainshaft and layshaft centres). And the LT95 as fitted to the V8 powered models.
