No its not bee utey. I was wondering where the hoses came from to give it some heat. The vehicle came from Newman so not much use for a heater up there!

One completely rebuilt LT95 back where it belongs

New rear main oil seal and sump gasket. Man I hope I put the clutch back together correctly, as I don't want to take that thing back out any time soon

Now to start the process of hooking everything back up. I have some EFI 3.9l headers to go on after a coat of paint, with new down pipes that will run to a custom new exhaust later. Replacement bulkhead still to be painted then it can go back on also, and the dash refurbishment progressed.

Acquired some hood sticks also, so will be set for summer topless cruising.

Well unfortunately I binned the 3.9l v8 down pipes I had so I had to buy another set to match the cast manifolds I plan to use.

I bought these from a reputable "bricks and mortar" Land Rover supplier in Perth, and when I removed the wrapping back home, the 2 into 1 pipes have been manufactured by crushing the 2 pipes into the 1 pipe. No 2-1 adapter used!

These 2-1 joins can't be very efficient. I may have to see if the exhaust shop that I plan to use to make the system downstream can retrofit some proper adapters into these pipes??

That's a bit crappy! I can't even see how they could properly weld and seal the pipes together like that. Have you spoken to the supplier about this?
If you need to contact me please email homestarrunnerau@gmail.com - thanks - Gav.

    Nasty one!

I made a collector box in halves for my P6, by knocking some 1mm cold-rolled-steel into shape with a hammer and some formers and MIG welding the whole lot together. If you have a welder it would be worthwhile doing it, if you can't get better ones and your money back,

To their credit the store has replied to my email sent yesterday and is checking with their supplier in the UK. We will see what transpires....

Got the seat box back in today so I can sort out some of the wiring.

My aging memory is failing me though

Does anyone know what earth cables are standard procedure??
I have an earth cable from the negative battery terminal to the body on the cross member behind the seats, and an earth cable from the battery to a bolt on the flywheel housing (next to the starter). I have one cable left over though! It appears to have been from a bolt on top of the motor on the valley cover down to the gearbox area somewhere?

I am going to install a key style battery isolation switch in the hole under the handbrake both as an anti-theft measure and vehicle preservation in the case of a short somewhere. Some of the original wiring is fairly brittle, especially where it has been exposed to heat...

    Cheers,
    Chris

    Good plan Chris!

I have no idea where the earth cables were originally, but earths close to the headlights and connected to the chassis, are worth considering as well,

    Cheers Charlie

    Hi Chris,

Like your rebuild. I rebuilt my Stage One Truck Cab a few years ago and fitted some headers from a Range Rover. I had to have the exhaust centre mod them slightly to clear the steering box from memory but I am happy with the way it came out. I also rebuilt the motor and gearbox. It has about 40 000kms on it since the rebuild and hasn't missed a beat.

Love the Stage One's!!! Good to see another one getting a bit of love and a breath of fresh air. Hope to see you out in it soon. Few images below of my Stage One.

    Regards Warrick.
