Some stuff is unfused on these, like the ignition coil and most of the other globes. Land Rover were never big on fuses early on for some reason - one of the reasons I carry a fire extinguisher and have a battery isolation switch on mine. :)

Grab yourself a manual for the vehicle, very handy to have lying around. :)

The headlight fuse (1-2) is only for the high beam side of things, normal beam is completely unfused. Another reason to do it properly with fuses and relays.

And I agree, the wiring diagram in the manual is invaluable. Could not do a lot of things without it.

Total re-wire is the go. Fuses and relays for everything.
