Any idea when things are going to be scrapped ????
Sounds like your dealing with Jimmy.
Must get down and have another look.

Having not started Bert, for a couple of weeks, went out yesterday after over 300mm of rain has fallen on him.
Pushed the starter, but didn't fire on first cough.
Pulled out choke, hit again and fired first cough.. :D
After 30 second or so, pushed in choke, and he purrrrrred.
I guess things are all set up pretty spot on.
How are other East coast series and owners, going in this massive storm rolling South.
Drive Safe, take care

we've had 20mm overnight + high winds which doesn't sound a lot unless only half your shed is concreted and the other half where you are currently wrestling with your Landy is sole deep in water! It didn't help that I'd left all my tools on the floor either.:( Luckily - I haven't had to drive in it.
cheers,
D
Change the gearbox oil in Bert today, and these bits fell out with the oil.
One tooth, two halves of a spring clip ???? and some small flecks of brass in the bottom of the oil container, not much, just a probably 15/20 smaller than a grain of sand. some bits of cast maybe, not brass but would not stick to my bench magnet, maybe cast from the broken tooth ????
Thanks

make a tool today to remove those stupid half moon plugs.
used an old tyre lever, old and hardened steel.
It works great.
I am just going to build up the end a bit with some weld, then grind back to square it off, for a nice tight fit.

The spring is out of the synchro hub 3rd/4th, there should be 3 springs in the assembly.
I did find an article on the net some time ago where someone replaced a spring without taking the box apart.

Thanks for the replies.
Filled Berts gearbox with oil yesterday through the top square cover.
It was easy to do. Cover back on.
Whilst having a cuppa, I was looking for the above clip, in my two manuals, as the internet was down.
Couldn't find it. Now I know where it is, I can see it.
Whilst looking at the gearbox pic, it dawned on me I had added 1.5lts to the transfer box:bangin:
Transfer oil change was next on the list.
Have found a small round steel pin 5mmx3mm which may be normally a bit longer.
But it may have come from the gearbox, transfer or fairey overdrive.
Should have done them in different containers.
Filling the gear box took a while with clear plastic pipe and funnel through the level plug.
New tool worked well.
Front and rear difs next.

Berts rear lens.
Plastic not glass.
Can I get new ones anywhere.
Thanks

T stop/tail and indicator lenses are fancy looking stuff Billy.
Mine are just plain Jane, so I must have the poverty pack!
Are they Lucas or Wipac?
They will most likely have a letter and number on them.
I am preparing my 2A for a roadworthy and the lenses on it too
are very faded and weathered.
Is this them? Referred to as "Military" stop/tail lights.
