    Bought for parts

Ok usual story bought a series 2 then found a series 3 sight unseen for parts
Well it arrived today and for a car sitting in a scrap metal yard it is in good condition only two small rust holes in the whole chassis
    And it runs and drives
Besides missing the original air cleaner and having a 1980s two way and push button radio it's un molested and original condition
So now a quick clean up bit of welding few lights then will consider registering it
So now to search for another parts car for Mildred the series 2

Not sure about the colour. When the suns on it it looks like Camino gold but not when the suns off it. Nice looking thing. What's the engine like?

Agreed. Even their little tents they set up were that colour.

Thanks went out back then got the door in right light and has telecom Australia on it

The engine runs fine no noise or blue smoke but did take a bit to get going flushed fuel tanks as it had been sitting for over three years moves with a few groans but going to run a gasket set thru engine and box and respray chassis basically give a good clean up
Thanks everyone solves the orange colour question will post more pictures as things get done

    PMG vehicles were red.
Telecom were orange as were DMR (Dept. Main Roads) NSW.
I can recall PMG having Land Rovers and by the time Telecom came along they were using Toyota Land Cruisers. Not to say they didn't have Land Rovers as well.
If it was a late series 3 it may have scraped in as a Telecom vehicle.
