    Number Under RH bumpstop

    Hi.
    Anyone shed any light on these letters and Numbers, stamped on the front RH bump stop pad ????
    Only appeared after sanding the stop

    Hi - i've not been on here for a while- life has been catching up. I have the diesel in bits (still) - i'll take a look tomorrow.

    p.s had a squint could not see anything. Do you mean under the rubber or somewhere else? Passenger or driver side?

    speaking to the Old man,
    His comments,Graham said land rover chassis were built by John Thompson Engineering Ettingshall Wolverhampton. He is my RAF mate who was here with his caravan last week and he lives in Wolverhampton............
    Wonder if it was a manufacture mark ????

    Often saw numbers like that on brackets in Land rover assembly stores. In the factory parts bins would be items for inspection or reworks.

    Bump stop and engine mount was example with V8 chassis modified to 3.9D as it was cut off and a spacer added. Axle bracket for projects and in crate damage repairs.

    didn't tend to see these on assembly line items I was thinking batch tracking build date before the chassis number was issued.

    Dark, on the square bracket, attached to the chassis, once the bump stop is removed.
