Just go see DAVE at toorak tractor, he is local to you.
I am going to do the new era upgrade this coming weekend, thanks for the thread, I was befuddled as to why I was having the lights cut out on high beam usually at warp speed in the series 3.
I have a couple of square LED spotties put on by the auto elec here in Kyneton and it worked brilliantly for a few months and the old relay packed it in, got another similar one ans the same story, so I am keen to do this upgrade.
Thanks again Lionel for the links, much appreciated.

If your indicator switch is also the dip switch check it out they don' t like too much current going through them , they tend to get hot & melt the plastic then the contacts will loose there tention & not contact propely[bighmmm]
The relays should stop the switch getting hor but if the switch is already damaged it will keep giving you problems.
So I had a decent drive in the country after dark last night.
Previously on low beam at 100k I was looking at the white lines for clues where the road went.
With the relay upgrade and the philips vision +130 even low beam is excellent. More than enough light to drive safely at highway sped.
Also- I noticed that I wasn't desperately looking to put high beam on at every opportunity because I could actually see where I was going.
It made the whole night driving experience so much more relaxing

Yes, I'm going to buy the Traxide wiring kit soon.
Playing with the green machine today.
Could hear a clicking behind the front grill.
Discovered three relays. Large wire from positive side of starter solenoid, to one relay.
no extra wire to suggest spot lights, but headland fitted have H4 on the glass.
So would one do the low beam, the other high beam and maybe one goes to the horn. How do you test relays ???? can hear the two light ones ? clicking when lights are turned on and high low and Light flash.
Thanks for your comments.

Quick update.
Whilst starting the green machine tonite, in the dark, noticed the lights came on, when starting for a second.
Discovered someone had put the light feed, the wrong side of the Solenoid switch. moved to the other terminal and low beam works, very bright.
Just need to find the high beam, as all goes out when lever at steering wheel is flicked to HB position.
would the same solenoid be used for high beam, or a separate one ????
