Hi. I got a my series 3 brake stuck while its on the transport truck. They told me to get a registered mechanic to fix it so they can put the car down.

It can be push forward bit now backward.

Anyone knows any registered mechanic in western suburb tarneit area and knows about series? Anyone know what could be the problem with the brake?

Any mechanic that understands drum brakes should be able to help.
First thing would be to back off the adjusters to see if that can free it up.

Sounds a bit drastic that they want to 'put it down'. Was it driven on the truck, were the brakes free originally ??

As Johnno suggested back off the adjusters (handbrake & all 4 wheels). Could be a partially seized wheel cylinder (apply the brakes and they stay on). Could be a de-laminating flexible hose trapping fluid under pressure.

Some years back I dragged a Series I home without a rear axle. Tied it to a Series II and dragged the trailer out from under it. The brakes aren't that good that it couldn't be dragged off ......

Yes it was driven on the truck and the brake was fine. It has been in the depot nearly a week maybe the brake freezed after a while not being used.

I am using ceva and they need the car to be drivable to move it out from the truck. First time I transport a car from interstate.

Mine was holding fluid preashure to the rear wheels due to the flexible line delaminating.
The proff was undoing the bleeder nipple and fluid squirting out without the pedal being pushed.
Short term fix was a pair of vice grips on the line to stop a reoccurrence.
Ours was movable but needed a good dose of revs before engaging the clutch.

I dont think its the brake now. Maybe be the 4wd system as it is something new. Tried to unlock the hub on the other thread but very tight. Even the mechanic tried 2 days ago but no luck.

Have you jacked a wheel off the ground to make sure it's not just wind up?
If you need to contact me please email homestarrunnerau@gmail.com - thanks - Gav.
