It should pick up vacuum on the inlet manifold.
Here is a pic of a six cylinder, but I can't find one of a four cylinder.

    Cheers, Mick.

493_LI (2) series 2.jpg I would think you would connect in the same place Tim connected his were the plug is at the front section if the inlet manifold.

Physically it should be the same, the only difference is hinges but they may well fit a series 3

Yes. Hinges are different, and early S2a had four bolts, later ones three, and the S3 hinges will fit either. But S3 Stage 1 has a different bonnet.

I hooked my series 3 booster to a hole in front of the carby. There was a plug in it originally and i found a fitting with the correct thread to screw in.

I was relocating the spring inside the cabin taht hold clutch pedal. When I was done the clutch pedal is very soft and no pressure at all. Before was ok I mean there is pressure and I push the pedal.
When the oil and it was empty. I can’t remember whether there was oil or not before I was relocating the spring.
I don’t think relocating the spring got to do the issue but I couldn’t think what could be the problem and coincidence with spring relocation.
I can see the mechanism in cluth pedal housing in engine bay is moving and pushing the master cylinder.
    Any idea? Thanks
