Got a bit warm here today and my radiator just started leaking. Haven't driven it since Thursday.
The mounting of the thermo fans is the problem.

have you got an auxiliary thermo fan? Ive never had my stage 1 get hot even in summer, +35 degrees and low range??
It didn't leak from driving. It was sitting in the shed and when the sun hit it started leaking. It hadn't been leaking for the past 2 days while driving it.
I have twin thermo fans and no engine driven fan. I want to go back to an engine fan if I can find a shroud for the radiator.

To support the tube and reduce the chance of flexing under pressure I suggest you inject a slug of silicone sealant into the breach once it's tested as leak free.Quote:

That fan looks like it had some sort of metal attachment with a thread on it going through the radiator and has cut into the core. I have a new one sititng on my bench and it has plastic rods that go through the fins so will not cut into the core.
But as Summitt said, with a standard system in good condition you really do not need additional cooling ability.

That's exactly what has happened. I do not have an engine driven fan. Previous owner put on 2 thermo fans and mounted them through the radiator with bolts. Driving on rough roads has forced the bolts to hole the rad. I have now sleeved the bolts in plastic and re fitted the fans.Quote:

Location is the lane way half way up the hill BTU rd. ( think its called Tea tree lane)
We dont have anyone who repairs radiators anymore in Nowra........its becoming a lost art in this part of the world.
