The press made short work of the stuck bearing.

I'll try and sort some photos tomorrow. I'm going to take it into a friends garage and see if I can use the press in there or if they have any other ideas in the bag of tricks to get the devil undone.
I'll be sure to post up what I find.

Having a closer look at it there's nothing to indicate why the devil was stuck. Considering the amount of gunk and crud surrounding it when i first cleaned it up it may have just been grit causing it to stick.
Can't be completely sure but it's out now and once it's cleaned up and new bearings are put in I'll stick it back on and move to the front.
Well..... after getting the hub off and new bearings arrriving the stub isn't letting me slide the new bearings on.
Which helps explain why I couldn't get the bugger off before.
Thankfully i have a spare rear axle in the back yard collecting weeds and I've stolen the stub off of it to replace the stuffed one.
With two good stubs now its time to clean them up.![]()
All cleaned up and ready for reassembling![]()
First bit is done....
Now the brakes![]()
Just looking at ur pics Nick and it looks like u have paint on the seal surface on the stub axle. If u have u should clean it off or u will have leaks.
Cheers Rod
