Sure enough the part fits under the tub in front of the fuel tanks. Thanks
Moving into the next question that has me flummoxed... the electric connections.
I'll start with the easier of the questions
The starter switch. I've attempted to follow the instructions from the workshop manual i have there are a lot of leftover wires in the autospark loom. It's this normal?
The back of the starter is pictured below. It tells me there is a white and red connection to go into number 2. The connector is the wrong size for the space bit that is there... easy enough to change but there is a large brown cable that has no home. Should i splice this into the other brown cable that is connected?
Next question. The stalk on the column suggested that a brown wire goes to the switch. The only place i can see to plug this in is with the brown and red wire but the book.... once again.... isn't clear.
With this it is also showing the green brown wire gong to a relay. Does anyone know which relay this is to go to?
Finally the purple cable ( the only purple cable i can find in the lot) goes to the fuse. Does anyone have a photo/ diagram that they could share to give me an idea how the wires go to the fuse box? I this this may clear up a lot of the leftover wires i have....
Been a while since i posted anything so here are some updates....
The truck is mostly back together and I'm happy to say running.
The electrics have all been redone and there's no smoke escaping from any of the wires.... i wish i could say the same about the exhaust.
I've had to get the fuel injection pump reconditioned and new injectors but ah well.
Enjoy some photos and if i can work out how to upload a video the running engine
Im happy to say that the pump was the last of the fuel problems
sort of nearly got it except for painting then kind of leaving running gear lipstick on a pig these only have one colour mate but horses for courses and don't mention the cultural heritage in the skip issue hope that's in Tasmania
Phew. So. Sit right back and I shall tell you a tale. It's not much of a tale.
After getting the engine running and ticking along nicely I find the rear main seal is shot.
I've removed the engine from the truck, something I've managed to avoid up to this point, and have a new seal in hand. While i was at it I attacked the devil with a wire wheel and hit it with some spare engine paint I had kicking around.
But here is where I need some help and I'm hoping someone has had to deal with tge same frigging issue as me.
Do I need to remove the flywheel in order to get the piece out to replace the seal?
Any help here would be really appreciated
Specifically this part here. Can this just be pulled out with a little profanity and prying?
