    Bluey the Series 3 Ute

Just like to introduce myself and Bluey to you all, as we are new to the series section.
Previously had a new D90, but you know how it goes with wife's and uncomfortable daily drivers - always ends badly for the car!

Anyway I have just got Bluey, picked him up from Ballarat last weekend and made the journey back to Adelaide the same day(thankfully the Pajero Sport is very comfortable).

I won't be doing a complete strip down and rebuild, but will be fixing up the paintwork and getting it ready for registration with the Holden 202 that's in it.

Have chatted to the previous SA owner and am confident that the mechanicals are in good shape - time will tell....

I'll keep you posted on the progress and by the way it's a 75 model and originally ran the factory 6 cylinder motor.

    Cheers Cookie

Welcome! That's a nice truck you have there, I have a Series 3 daily/work ute with a tray and I actually find it comfortable to drive. It'll be better with new shocks though. It looks as though it's rust free that's a great start. I look forward to see yours and Bluey's progress.

    Nathan.

Welcome to the forum, that is a nice tidy and straight rig you have picked up there.
Those seats look awesome, almost art-deco styling!
Some ones gone to a fair bit of trouble to insulate the engine bay and heater box....understandable with Ballarat winters.
Hope it comes together for roadworthy for you.
Given that it's powerplant is a Holden 202, give some consideration to fitting 3.54 diff centres, that is if it doesn't already have them.
The 202 will handle them easily and it will make it a far more serviceable vehicle, especially if it's a daily driver.

    Cheers, Mick.

Thanks for the comments guys, looking forward to getting on the road.

Don't think the engine bay insulation will be staying, as I doubt motor registration would be happy with it. It is regular polystyrene, so poses a fair fire risk.

First job will be to sort the choke out, as the manual lever is very agricultural and the choke is not coming on enough for cold starts. Hopefully the weather holds out this weekend to have a look.

It was originally gold in colour, so am toying with the idea of taking it back to gold, but the blue is growing on me, so maybe not.

Can anyone comment on whether the blue looks like a landrover colour?

    Cheers Cookie
