Reducing engine revs on the highway without sacrificing low gearing

Higher tyres will reduce rpm, but also worsen the low gearing in all gears. And there is also the problem that there are really no readily available tyres higher than the standard 7.50x16, and any that could be found will require different wheels and will be much wider, increasing turning circle and problems with the non-power assisted steering. So not really a suitable solution.

"Long stroke" is a bit misleading as a term. This engine has a stroke just 4mm longer than the stroke of the four - which is oversquare!

Did you put on Cookey's extractors? If he's still making them by the time I get round to putting the FFR back on the road I hope to be able to buy a set from him.

I've got a set of Cookys extractors but the vehicle is a long way from finished. I believe he still has a set or two left.
