Can anyone confirm if these rims will fit my landrover series 3 109?
I intend to get 7.50r16 tyres - original landrover look.
I will also have these painted in limestone.
They are stock rims off a perentie - 7.50r16 tubed rims.
Anything else I should be aware of ?

I think that may depend on when it was built - they got a bit inventive with colours in late production.

SupporterNot sure when Limestone got phased out, Series III's often had a white roof & wheels.
Eastern Auto Paints in Bayswater mixed Land Rover Limestone for me. Looked it up in an old paint catalogue.

While there are always going to be exceptions, including military vehicles, as a general rule the short and long wheel base trucks assembled and sold here had Limestone (never white) rims from about 1967 through to about 1976 or whenever the standard body colours went from light green and grey to the olives and golds. At that time they went over to silver grey which carried through to the Countys.
My once owned 1968 88" and 1972 109" trucks both had Limestone rims as does my present 1975 88" truck. The codes are available somewhere in the Series site - my own preference is for a slightly more creamy shade than the official one.

Any suggestions for tyres - i understand I need tyres for 7.50 r16 tubed rims

SupporterLook out for Dunlop Road Grippers they used to come as standard on Toyota Troopys. Most people & Government Departments replace them and you can pick up tyres on the split rims cheaper than you can buy the tyres locally.Originally Posted by Rrm

LT tyres can be OK but check the ply-rating, they tend to have little 'give' in them and you need a well lubricated set of leaf springs. 6-8 ply seems about the norm but I've seen 12 & 14 in LT tyres.
