    Grease points etc

Going through the recommended lubricants section of the Haynes for Woodstock (s3 2.25 petrol). I have no grease nipples on any of the steering links and rods. None on either prop. I do have them on each joint. 3 at the rear and then one each moving forward. Does this sound right? Also, how do you grease the hubs? I popped a hub cap off and there is no grease nipple. Finally, how much oil should be in the steering box/relay?
All comments gratefully received as usual.
    cheers,
    D

    Series 3 grease nipples.

Standard: two universals and sliding joint on each prop shaft. Late front prop shafts had no nipple on the sliding joint, and need a special procedure to grease them.

In addition to this, some may have the series 2/2a greasable bell crank on the hand brake linkage, some may have a grease nipple added on the clutch pedal shaft, and some may have replacement tie rod ends with grease nipples.

Steering box should be filled to the level of the plug.

Steering relay, remove two bolts from the top and add oil through one until it comes out the other - slow, as the oil is thick and the hole small!

Hubs are greased during assembly, but are lubricated in service by oil from the differential at the rear and the swivels at the front.

    Thanks John.
The sliding joint on the front prop has no cover so I will look into greasing that when i take it off to replace.

    cheers,
