    Salisbury?

I am assuming this is a Salisbury rear axle on my 109 s3.

Was there more than one type of design of Salisbury rear axles or was there just this one? Will there be any markings on the case anywhere that will tell me what it is - I cant see any. Also - what are the two "holes" either side of the filler plug?
All comments gratefully received as usual.
    cheers,

    D

Yes to Salisbury and as far as I know, only one type for Series vehicles (different ratio for Stage 1s)

The holes are to engage the spreader tool when you want to dismantle.
